Kindled ("we," "our," or "the App") is a date planning application. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data.
The following information is stored locally on your device using an on-device database. We never have access to this data, and it is never transmitted to our servers:
If you uninstall the App or clear its data, this information is permanently deleted.
When you generate a date itinerary, the App sends a request to our server, which includes the preferences and parameters you've selected for that date (such as location, vibe, budget, and interests). This information is forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your itinerary.
We do not store your generation requests after they are processed.
Anthropic's data handling is governed by their own privacy policy, available at anthropic.com/privacy.
We track the number of date itineraries you generate each month to manage free and premium tier access. This counter is stored on our server and is associated with a randomly generated identifier created on your device — not your name, email, Google account, or any personal information. This counter resets monthly and old records are automatically deleted after 60 days.
If you subscribe to Kindled Premium, your purchase is processed by Google Play. We verify your subscription status using your Google Play purchase token. We do not process or store your payment information — Google handles all billing.
Kindled may send anonymous product-analytics events to help us understand how the App is used and improve it over time. Examples of events: opening the App, generating a date, viewing the paywall, starting a purchase, and tapping share. Events are associated with the same randomly generated, device-local identifier used for the generation counter — never your name, email, or Google account. No free-text inputs (partner names, interests, location, dietary notes, etc.) are ever sent as analytics data.
Analytics are handled by PostHog, Inc. on our behalf. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policy at posthog.com/privacy. Analytics may be disabled at any time by the App operator; when disabled, no events are transmitted.
We use the following third-party services:

We do not use advertising SDKs or any services that build user profiles for targeted advertising. If product analytics are enabled, events are anonymous and used only to improve the App.
Date itineraries may include links to third-party services such as restaurant reservation platforms, ticket sellers, and navigation apps. When you tap these links, you leave Kindled and are subject to the privacy policies of those third-party services. We may earn a commission from these referrals, but no personal data is shared with affiliate partners.
Kindled is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.

We use industry-standard security practices to protect data in transit, including HTTPS encryption for all communications between the App and our servers. Your API keys and secrets are stored securely using Cloudflare's encrypted secrets management.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes through the App. The "Last updated" date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last revised.
